White Rock District

NEW DISTRICT NAME, EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2012

As you know, the council recently realigned all of the various districts within Circle 10, and combined White Rock District and White Buffalo District (the district that adjoins us on the west side of White Rock Lake).  As part of the combination of our two districts, we jointly created a contest open only to scouts, cubs and venturers to help name the new combined district.  The contest drew 97 entries, and they were submitted to a panel of civic leaders including present and former Dallas City Councilmembers and other leaders in our area.  They selected the final name which has now been approved by council.  Thus, on January 1, 2012, our combined district will be known as Tejas Caddo District.   At our November district committee meeting, held jointly with White Buffalo’s district committee, we elected leadership for the combined district.  John Thompson, currently the district chair for White Buffalo and a Silver Beaver recognized Scouter, will be the new chair of the combined district.  Hilary Jirasek, currently the White Rock District assistant commissioner, will become the District Commissioner for the combined district.  Adam Hunter will be the District Executive for the combined district.
